“The Chinese use two brush strokes to write the word 'crisis. ' One brush stroke stands for danger; the other for opportunity. In a crisis, be aware of the danger--but recognize the opportunity.”

When my coaching clients are going through a difficult time or dark night of the soul, together we look to the deeper meaning and lessons that can lead to growth and evolution. The same can be done now collectively as humanity.

While our planet is in the grip of pandemic created by a super-virus that has jumped from the wildlife kingdom to the non-animal human family, we can ask “what are the opportunities or lessons here for us to learn”?

·      Respect and protection for wild animals. A strict ban on farming and consumption of wild animals is being rolled out through China. China has acknowledged it needs to bring its lucrative wildlife industry under control if it is to prevent another outbreak. (CNN)

·      We are becoming more mindful of personal hygiene and our surroundings. We share this increasingly populated planet together and frequent hand-washing and sanitizing is considerate, courteous and effective.

·      The rapid rate in which the virus spreading around the globe, illuminates how connected we all are. We touch people in ways we don’t even know. We have the opportunity to come together as a global community in solidarity in a time when the short term protocol is to be isolated.

·      Be led by your light, not by your fear. Fear and stress weakens the immune system and its ability to fight off antigens. Stay healthy.
